Kevin M. More Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the May Institute, Inc.,a national healthcare and human service organization with over 200 service centers in the Northeast, Southeast and West Coast. As CIO, Kevin provides leadership and vision for developing and implementing information technology initiatives. He is responsible for formulating and executing a strategic technology plan that is aligned with the May Institute’s organizational goals; acquiring and implementing all clinical and administrative applications; building and maintaining technology and telecommunication infrastructure to effectively support current business operations and future growth, and staffing and managing the IT Department.
Kevin has over twenty years of healthcare, information technology and telecommunication management experience and previously served as Vice President of Information Systems for the May Institute. He has held leadership and technology positions at Tenet Healthcare, Cataldo Ambulance Service, Inc. and STS Management Consulting.
Kevin served as the 2011 President of the Boston Chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM). Over the past five years, he has been a very active participant and contributor in the SIM National Marketing Committee where he has given multiple presentations on social media, marketing and program best practices.
In 2010 he chaired the SIM International Social Media Team with the primary objective of integrating Social into the society’s overall communication and collaboration strategy. Currently, he is actively growing the "SIM Connect" LinkedIn group to improve cross chapter collaboration and in 2010 authored the SIM International Wikipedia entry where he was able to research and document the history of SIM International as well as the Boston Chapter.
Kevin earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University, a master’s degree in Business Administration from Bentley University and is a graduate of the Society for Information Management’s Northeast Regional Leadership Forum. Kevin is a member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society, Past President of the Boston Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Boston SIM as a Trustee.
In 2014, Kevin was awarded CIO of the Year by the Boston Business Journal and named as one of "The Top 100 Most Social CIOs on Twitter” by the Huffington Post in 2014, 2015 and 2016. He is a frequent speaker and panelist at various information technology industry events on topics to include Innovation, Management, Social Media and Leadership Development. Caren Shiozaki
CGEIT, CEDS | Vice Chair | EVP & Chief Information Officer, TMST, Inc.
Caren Shiozaki is Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for TMST, Inc., a mortgage company based in Santa Fe, NM. The company is currently under Chapter 11.
Due to the company’s circumstance, Ms. Shiozaki has placed increased focus on governance, cybersecurity and risk management, ensuring that all legal requirements for data preservation and protection are met to the satisfaction of the US Bankruptcy court. She leads large scale data management and e-discovery initiatives, and performs forensic data analysis.
Ms. Shiozaki has extensive experience in the financial services industry. At Bank of America, she led business and systems integration efforts living and working throughout Asia. She was responsible for Central Bank compliance of reporting systems within all the Asian countries in which the Bank had a presence. She went on to serve as vice president and principal consultant for their International Advisory Group in San Francisco. She was responsible for leading the consulting practices in data warehousing, business intelligence/analytics and program management to the Bank’s clients in Asia and Europe. She joined American Express as Vice President of Enterprise Architecture. She created and administered American Express’s enterprise governance program that provided oversight for a multi-billion dollar technology investment portfolio. In her last position, she led the team that was responsible for the “Manage Your Card Account” web interface that serviced over 10mm American Express cardholders worldwide. She joined Belo Corp as Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Belo was one of the nation’s largest media companies with a diversified group of market-leading television, newspaper, cable and interactive media assets. During her tenure at this Fortune 1000 company, she implemented significant changes in information technology, broadcast engineering and interactive publishing functions to better position Belo as a competitor in digital media.
Ms. Shiozaki has served as an advisor to venture capital investment firms for new media startup companies. She was on the board of one of those companies. She is co-founder of a company that was developing a data analytics model to improve diabetic care for patients of the Albuquerque VA.
Ms. Shiozaki earned her degree in genetics from the University of California at Berkeley. She holds ISACA’s certification in the governance of enterprise IT, and is a member of ISACA’s CGEIT certification committee which establishes the professional standards for that certification. She is also certified as an e-discovery specialist.

- SIM: Vice Chair on the SIM national board, and the founder of SIM’s national cybersecurity special interest group. She is a member of the Dallas and Arizona chapters.
- Santa Fe Alliance for Science: board member and science fair judge for the Santa Fe school district.
- Santa Fe Animal Shelter: board member.
- Sedona Conference (a nonprofit research and educational institute dedicated to the advanced study of law and policy in complex litigation): member of a team developing a paper to provide guidance to corporate Boards on minimizing data security and privacy risks.
- Girls Inc. of Santa Fe: Past Chairman of the board and now serving as technology advisor.
- New Mexico Technology Council: former Vice Chairman of the board.
Eric Gorham
Chair Emeritus | CIO, REJIS Commission
Eric Gorham has served as CIO for the REJIS Commission since 1998. He originally joined REJIS in June of 1983 and has been a member of the REJIS staff for over 32 years. Eric is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing support of IT systems and solutions in critical government areas such as, law enforcement, courts, corrections, disaster recovery, Data Center operations, network services, security, and citizen services. He participates on several committees that oversee the operations of the REJIS Commission which help guide the future direction of the organization.
Eric is a founding member of the St. Louis Chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM) and served as the Chapters President in 2007. He currently serves as Chair Emeritus for SIM National organization and as a member of the SIM St. Louis Chapter - President's Advisory Council. Eric is a 1998 graduate of the SIM Midwest Regional Leadership Forum (RLF).
Eric supports local community organizations as a member of BackStoppers, The MASTERS, and as a Board Member for the St. Louis Community College Foundation. In 2006 he helped found what is now known as the Gateway to Innovation (g2i) conference. He has participated on the conference committee since 2006, chaired the conference in 2010 & 2011, serves as an Executive Board Member for the conference, and is the conference co-chair for the 2016 conference. In nine years the conference has contributed over $825,000 back to the St. Louis community supporting technology needs and IT scholarships. In 2006 Eric was selected as one of Computerworld's Premier 100 IT Leaders.
Eric holds an Executive MBA, from Washington University and a Bachelor of Science, Organizational Administration from St. Louis University.
Joel Schwalbe
Treasurer | VP of Technology, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts
Joel Schwalbe is the vice president of technology for the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando FL. Mr. Schwalbe joined the Dr. Phillips Center in July of 2016 and brings over 25 years of technology experience. In this position, he oversees technology strategic planning, e-Commerce, business application systems, Front of House (FOH) technology, cyber security, telecommunications and data center operations. The Dr. Phillips Center is a place you can go to see amazing performances and also play, participate, learn and dream. Named by Travel + Leisure magazine as "World’s Coolest New Tourist Attractions 2015" and among their “Best Places to Travel in 2015” the two-block downtown destination includes the 2,700-seat Walt Disney Theater, 300-seat Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater, Seneff Arts Plaza, Dr. Phillips Center Florida Hospital School of Arts, the DeVos Family Room, and other event rental spaces
Prior to his current role, Mr. Schwalbe was the senior vice president and chief information officer for CNL Financial Group. In this role, he provided oversight of technical strategic planning and architecture, application development, information security, telecommunications and computing and network operations. Mr. Schwalbe joined CNL in 2005 as the vice president of technical services. He was named CIO in February of 2006.
Prior to his role with CNL, Mr. Schwalbe was the vice president of technology for ClearSky Mobile Media. In this role, he was responsible for all aspects technology including application development, systems engineering and network and data center operations. Prior to joining ClearSky, Mr. Schwalbe served as the vice president of network services for the Global Corporate Investment Bank of Bank of America.
Mr. Schwalbe has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida. He serves on the industry advisory councils for the UCF College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Valencia State and for the Crummer Business School at Rollins College. He also serves on the SIM Central Florida chapter executive committee.
Leo Pellerin
Secretary | CIO, United Way of CT
Leo is currently the CIO of the United Way of CT, an organization that provides several state funded services that require four diverse call centers. This includes the State of Connecticut’s 2-1-1 call center which is a 24 hour multilingual referral service providing help for those in crisis and in need. 2-1-1 Connecticut is also relied upon by the state as a first responder during disasters which required Leo to develop a strategy to scale up in the event of a natural disaster.
During Leo’s 25 year career in IT, Leo has a long list of experience across the entire IT domain but he specializes in Call Center Implementations, Cybersecurity, Disaster Response, High Availability System Design, Web UI/UX Design, Hybrid Cloud Computing and SAAS Migrations.
Leo was also the past president for the Central CT chapter of SIM and resides on the Pathways to Technology Industry Advisory Board and the State of CT Cyber Security Committee. Leo holds a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Connecticut where he is still actively involved in the basketball and football programs.
Kevin Sauer

Kevin Sauer, CIO of Preferred Homecare, has over 25 years of global experience working in several different industries with responsibilities across the US, Asia, Mexico, and Europe. Prior to joining Preferred Homecare, Mr. Sauer served as CIO fo rLMI solutions, Merchants Information Solutions and Suntron Corp. His diversified background and international experience has enabled him to better understand the needs of organizations and lead cross-functional teams to continuously improve processes that help drive revenue.
Mr. Sauer holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and has certifications in the areas of PMP, ITIL and Six Sigma.

Joan Holman

Joan Holman is the Chief Information Officer at Strasburger & Price, LLP in Dallas, Texas. Joan joined the firm in 2013 and is responsible for all strategic and operational aspects of Information Technology, Litigation Support, the Legal Library and Technical Training for the firm.
Prior to Strasburger, Joan spent over 2 years at Sigma-Aldrich, a leading global life sciences company, as the Senior Director of Portfolio Management, Customer Service and eBusiness.
Joan has over 20 years of experience leading Information Technology, Strategy, Development and Operations for several public and private companies in the Environmental Services, Telecommunications and Financial Services industries.
Outside of the workplace, Joan spends her time promoting STEM initiatives and giving back to her industry and community through her efforts on the Boards of Transformance and the Society for Information Management and her role as an Executive Host for the DFW Technology Ball. She is active involvement in the Dallas Executive Women’s Roundtable and previously served in a number of leadership roles in the Dallas chapter of the Association of Women Executives.
Joan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Texas at Dallas.
In August 2016, Joan was recognized by the Dallas Business Journal as one of its 2016 “Women in Technology.” for her contributions to the technology community both professionally and philanthropically.

Joe Bruhin

Mr. Bruhin has over 30 years as an information technology professional and leader. Most recently, he was the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Constellation Brands Inc. He is a veteran of the beverage alcohol industry and has 30 years of experience in technology, strategy and business operations.
Joe has served as Vice President of Information Systems at Diageo, where he was responsible for technology vision, strategy, and business process and systems solutions for the North American business. Prior to joining Diageo in 1996, Mr. Bruhin worked at The Hartford Insurance Company.
He is co-founder of the SIM Western New York chapter, where he currently serves as both Vice President & Programs Co-Chair, is a graduate of the SIM Regional Learning Forum (RLF), and a long-standing member of the SIM Advanced Practices Council (APC).
Mr. Bruhin is a transformational business leader with a track record of creating business value by leading breakthrough performance in IT. He is recognized as a motivational leader and mentor who creates an environment for success, creates high performing teams and inspires technology leadership.

Steve Heilenman

Steve Heilenman is currently VP and CIO for Computer Aid, Inc. (CAI), a global IT services and outsourcing firm that is currently managing active engagements with over 100 fortune 1000 companies and government agencies around the world. CAI has offices and operations in Australia, China, the Philippines, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. Steve has over 27 years of experience as an IT executive and has held previous positions with Ashton Technology Group, Vanguard Investment Company, Price Waterhouse, and EDS.
Steve is a former Philadelphia SIM (Society of Information Management) President and board member and currently a member of SIM’s Advanced Practices Council. He has presented at multiple CIO forums and CIO panels discussing Leadership and Innovation. He has recently Co-authored a book "Inside the Minds: Driving Business Value with Innovative Technology Strategies” 2014 – Thomson Reuters. Steve was a recipient of Smart CEO’s 2015 Executive Management Award. Philadelphia SIM’s 2016 Leadership award. Steve graduated with honors from Widener University.

Steve Hufford

Steve Hufford has more than 20 years of experience in IT leadership and consulting in both the private and public sectors. Steve’s focus in IT organizations has been IT operations, performance management and continuous improvement. Steve is also focused on IT compliance and governance. He also has a background in US and international data center design and the development of long-haul telecommunications networks.
In addition, Steve participates on several external technology advisory and steering committees. He has an MBA from Western Governors University and is a 2009 graduate of the SIM Regional Leadership Forum (RLF). Steve served on the board of directors for the Portland chapter of SIM from 2008-2012, and he has served as SIM’s Chief Executive since 2012.
