NEW ADDITION: Pandemic Preparation Webinar
Friday, March 13th at Noon

Open to Members ONLY, but you must SIGN UP to attend.

SIMCAC is hosting an impromptu SIMCAC member-only webinar on Pandemic Preparation in light of the current Covid-19 concerns, where a panel of private and public sector executives will discuss their current plans and review best practices and options.

The CDC states “at this time, most people in the United States will have little immediate risk of exposure to this virus. This virus is NOT currently spreading widely in the United States.  However, it is important to note that current global circumstances suggest it is likely that this virus will cause a pandemic.  This is a rapidly evolving situation and the risk assessment will be updated as needed.”

As leaders, decision makers, and technology experts, it often falls to us to develop the processes and programs to allow workers to function outside of the confines of the office.  While technology advancements over the past several years make that less intrusive than it used to be, it is still important to identify all key aspects of your business, create a plan, and understand the risks associated with your plan.

We hope you'll join us next Friday, March 13that 12pm for this member-exclusive informational session.

March's Event "5G - Unwiring Corporations & Communities" is now a WEBINAR

In light of the current Covid-19 concerns, SIMCAC has made a decision to change the venue of our March 23rd event, “5G – Unwiring Corporations & Communities”  from an in-person meeting to a webinar starting at 4pm.  We are making this change out of an abundance of caution for our members, and to ensure that we are acting socially responsible to our community and fiscally responsible to our chapter.  While there have been no confirmed cases in the DC metro area, new cases are being reported daily, and we want to ensure we are progressing with caution.  Over the next days and weeks, we will continue to evaluate the situation and any new guidelines to make determinations about future events, most notably our April Cybersecurity Summit.  We encourage you to attend the webinar and to invite eligible members in your network, as we have a list of great speakers lined up, with compelling content for you.

Please note, you will still need to register for the event in order to have access to the webinar!

On behalf of the entire SIMCAC board, I thank you for your understanding and look forward to our next in-person gathering to see each of you!

Regards,
Michael Huthwaite, SIMCAC Chair
