The results are in, and it was a 50/50 split between "maintaining a sense of community" and "flexability to deal with home and work demands."

NEW SIMCAC Offering!

CxO Exclusive Virtual Breakfast Chats, hosted on the first Friday of every month, starting on Friday, 6/5 at 7:30AM

The past few months have created a series of unexpected priorities and projects in IT.  As leaders and executives, our focus in many cases has shifted from day-to-day operations and projects to emergency planning, pandemic support, and reinventing our businesses remotely.  Now, as we enter the last month of the 2nd quarter, many of us are now faced with restarting our business and the what the “new normal” may look like.

SIMCAC membership has always delivered a safe space to talk with peers, hear others perspectives, and learn from each other.  This is more important now than ever.  As such, we are proud to announce a new series of monthly CxO Exclusive Virtual Breakfast Meetings, starting next Friday (June 6/5) at 7:30am.  Given the constantly evolving world we are living in, we will continue to host these on the first Friday of every month for the foreseeable future.

The first of these sessions will focus on reopening our communities and businesses.  In addition to a group discussion, our very own Mike Cannon will share how his county is planning to open their government offices and public facilities.

If you are a SIMCAC member, who holds a C level title (or are the highest ranking IT executive in your organization), we invite you to join us.  If you are not yet a member, but would otherwise be eligible to attend, we encourage you to reach out to us.  We'll gladly register you as our guest so you can experience the value of SIMCAC membership firsthand.

Moderator: Mike Huthwaite, SIMCAC Chair

Featured Speaker: Michael Cannon, SIMCAC Programming Chair & CTO for Stafford County, VA

SIMCAC June Webinar: DevOps & Microservices - Lego IT or Letting go of IT?

Have you signed up yet?
Sign up today and join us on June 9th at 4pm for the DevOps & Microservices - Lego IT or Letting go of IT webinar. In this information packed session, we leave theory and market hype behind and focus on the reality of digital transformation and application modernization from the perspective of agility to market, security, cost, performance and reliability of core business operations systems and customer facing applications. The discussion focuses on real experiences of companies and industries that have evolved and continue to pave the future of how information technology is “letting go” of traditional IT structures.
Legacy host-based data centers and managed IT infrastructure hamper innovation and agility through human-created process roadblocks. These legacy processes are now automated by innovations in cloud infrastructure support. Organizations of all types and sizes are moving to cloud computing, saving substantial capital costs through reduction in spending on equipment, infrastructure and software. They are also gaining competitive advantage through adopting microservice architectures, enabling them to harness the power of code reusability – the “Lego approach”.

Our speaker, David DeLoye, is a world-class consultant and practitioner in helping companies “Let Go” and experience exceptional financial and operational results. He has worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies, enabling them to leverage the power of DevOps, migrate entire data centers to the cloud, and help IT organizations adapt their team structure to the new way of computing. He has a keen perspective on what does and doesn’t work as IT teams tackle tough transformation challenges.

This is a session you definitely do not want to miss!
