The Central Florida chapter of SIM (Society for Information Management) has donated $5,000 for STEM-related scholarships to two female students attending Seminole State College and Valencia College. Each student has been gifted with $2,500 toward the pursuit of her STEM-related degree.
The funds will enable Seminole State student Kelly Chiriboga to work toward her goal of a cyber security career and Valencia College student Daisy Perry to pursue a degree leading to a career in software engineering or robotics.
“SIM Central Florida strongly believes in giving back to our community, to students and to our various fields of industry,” said Craig Loftin, president of the SIM Central Florida chapter. “We are pleased to award these scholarships to local female college students, to strengthen the presence of women in the STEM workforce pipeline throughout our greater Orlando area."
