University Scholarship

Haig Bernard

Congratulations to our 2019 FWSIM University Scholarship Award Recipient!

FWSIM is pleased to announce the winner of our 2019 FWSIM University Scholarship of $2,500, Haig Bernard, son of our long time member Christopher Bernard.

Haig joined the May 16, 2019 monthly meeting not only to receive the award but also to learn from the experts on “How to Become a Recognized Thought Leader” – the topic of the monthly meeting.   He stayed through the entire event, so we are hoping that we were able to inspire the next generation of technologies with our award winning speakers!

FWSIM scholarship program was established in 2014 to promote and reward academic excellence in any of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields of study and enable education of newer generations pursuing our profession (or those related).

Haig Bernard has just completed his 2nd year at Northeastern University in Boston where he is pursuing a dual degree in Data Science and business.  He will begin his first Co-op assignment at Retail Business Solutions as a data scientist starting in June and running through December.

Haig graduated from Danbury High School where he played varsity soccer and a variety of clubs.   He graduated in the top 10 in his class and has been recognized as a National Hispanic Scholar.

Coming up in July is the High School Scholarship kick-off, so have those graduating High Schoolers sharpen their pencils for the application and essay submission.  Our judges are ready!
