Chapter Spotlights

Technovation Girls Global Competition

Technovation is a global program that equips young women ages 10-18 to become tech entrepreneurs and leaders. Many SIMNY'ers  joined the global judging panel again this year.  We evaluated some of the many innovative apps submitted from inspired teams who focused on solving pressing problems in their communities around the world.

NYC FIRST Tech Challenge

Supporting broad STEM education, SIMNY members served as judges in the NYC FIRST Challenge. High School teams designed and built working robots while overcoming pandemic challenges.  Students applied advanced techniques while collaborating remotely.  SIMNY is proud to support tech leaders of the future.

Tech Upgrade at the MTA and the role of the Deputy CTO

SIMNYer Marge Ginsburg, MTA Deputy CTO joined Rafail Portnoy, MTA CTO for a discussion on the MTA's IT transformation and how the Deputy CTO partners with the CTO to move the MTA forward. The Deputy CIO role has seen an emergence to oversee IT development and operations, giving CTOs time to focus on communicating the IT vision and growing relationships with client business units to push innovation.
