Daniel Spurling

Daniel is a proven executive with 25 years of experience leading technology organizations and enterprise transformation initiatives.  At Slalom, Daniel works with clients to grow their business through new product creation, enhanced cloud adoption, and increased delivery velocity with operational maturity.   With a broad business and technical background, Daniel currently leads Slalom’s Cloud and Development teams here in Seattle.  He previously held leadership roles at Endra, Getty Images, T-Mobile, JPMorgan Chase, and other consulting firms.  While his MBA and other certifications check boxes, most of his learnings have come from successes and failures in real life.

Paul Farrall is currently Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer (CISCO) at Skytap, Inc. in Seattle where is responsible for global IT Operations of Skytap's Cloud Infrastructure products and Skytap corporate IT services.  Prior to Skytap, Paul was VP of Operations at Big Fish Games in Seattle where he had responsibility for IT infrastructure, web operations, cloud game streaming operations, corporate IT services, and information security.  He has been a member of the Seattle IT community for seventeen years with a primary focus on web operations and IT infrastructure.  Paul has been a member of SIM since 2011 and previously served as Seattle SIM VP of Programs.

Tom McSweeney

Tom (only his wife calls him “Thomas”) was born in a Philadelphia suburb and recently transplanted himself to the Great Northwest back in 2008. As an entrepreneur, Tom developed software that was later granted two patents. As a leader, he has spent the last 20 years managing technological teams in the medical and telecommunications industries (not related but speaks to his range). As a golfer, he has hacked up courses all over the United States and Canada, finally breaking 80 in 2017. As a musician, he has played rhythm guitar in a number of bands over the last 30 years. And as a student of the human condition, Tom has gathered a plethora of stories from his experiences and begun publishing them with his unique brand of sagacious humor.

Michael is an experienced full stack technologist with a proven track record on enterprise programs. He is a people centered leader who believes in coaching and developing the individual so that they can deliver their best results within the context of their team. His skills are both strategic and tactical. His experience includes managing corporate integrations and every aspect of technology from product planning, portfolio/program management, software development, data center operations, disaster recover, devops, cloud migrations, and corporate acquisitions.  He specializes in strategic business vision, product and software development, data analytics, building strong teams, IT operations and program leadership.

John is currently the Director of Business Development with BroadPoint group in Seattle where he helps Seattle area clients in the areas of IT staffing and project work.  Prior to joining BroadPoint group John founded Seattle App Lab which focused on iOS and Android mobile application development.  Before starting Seattle App Lab he worked for SurveySwipe forging strategic partnerships for an enterprise mobile application focused on the market research industry.  Prior to SurveySwipe he was the Director of Online Marketing and Business Development for Pioneer Newspapers where he drove the online strategy for a group of 8 daily newspapers.  He has been a member of the Seattle tech community for ten years primarily in Business Development and Online Marketing roles.  John has been a member of SIM since 2014 and is looking forward to serving the community through helping increase membership.

Beth has been an information technology executive for over 15 years for companies such as Behr Paint and Milgard Windows, where she has been responsible for delivering enhanced company results through the strategic implementation of technology, organization and process transformation. She provides leadership to the IT community as a long-standing member and board member of multiple chapters of SIM, and as advisor and speaker at various organizations and industry events. Beth holds a B. S., Information Systems from University of Redlands in California.

Barend Brink

Barend Brink is originally from Cape Town, South Africa.  Barend earned a degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Stellenbosch in 1994 and in 2001 completed an MBA at the University of Stellenbosch Business School; shortly after that he was recruited by Microsoft for a position in Redmond WA.  Barend has been with Microsoft for the past eleven years and is currently the Group Operations Manager for Microsoft’s Intellectual Property Group.  Barend is a graduate of the 2012 Regional Leadership Forum (Northwest region).

David Haam is the Vice President, Information Technology for Magnitude Software.  David brings over 20 years of experience as a leader and technologist, and has led teams in companies across a variety of industries while bringing a solution-oriented approach to business needs. His leadership has been honed by his many years of consulting to numerous companies. He has been in key leadership positions during times of significant transition, and has helped run and build IT infrastructures for multinational and internet-facing companies. David has led the IT organization at Magnitude Software (formerly Noetix) since 2008. Prior to joining Magnitude Software, David has been in IT leadership roles at Getty Images, Three-Five Systems, Starbucks, and HomeGrocer.com. David holds a BSEE from the University of Washington.

Sean Chighizola

Sean Chighizola has more than 13 years of experience as a proven technology ecommerce leader with extensive knowledge in enterprise-scale design, operations and development. Sean leads the global Project Management Office, Engineering and IT Operations teams, which work to continuously improve the Big Fish Games site and provide solutions solving business needs. He is also responsible for website availability, performance, security, game operations and back-office corporate services.  Providing value through execution of rapid development cycles and scalable systems is Sean’s principal mission at Big Fish Games.

Sean is actively engaged in the technology community presenting at conferences, webinars and is a member of CIO Executive Council, VP of the Program Committee for Seattle SIM Chapter and Gaming Global Customer Advisory Board for Akamai.

Haresh is the founder and CEO at Hitech Advisors. Hitech Advisors works with leading organizations such as, Nintendo, Costco, Zillow, Intellectual Ventures, and Stryve. Prior to Hitech, Haresh was the founding CEO at Faira, the fastest growing home listing platform in the Seattle area. Earlier in his career, Haresh held leadership and engineering positions at Amazon, AT&T, Kronos, and a multitude of startups.

Haresh volunteers on the board of the Children’s Music Foundation and at Armman USA. Haresh lives with his family in the Seattle area and enjoys trails and ski-runs of the Cascade Mountains and beyond.

A University of Washington Husky four times over, with a BS in Physics, a BS in electrical engineering, an MS in electrical engineering, and an MS in computer science.
