6:00PM Building Enterprise Capabilities for Digital Leadership - Omar El Sawy Synopsis: Enterprise capabilities for digital leadership requires a collective effort to not only build digital platform capabilities, but also enterprise-wide digitalization capabilities, and digital workforce capabilities. Omar will draw on the experiences of the LEGO Group in Denmark to provide insights on how to best build the foundations for digital leadership. He will share aspects of transformation beyond IT and how business should be addressing.

Jerry is an innovative IT Executive who transforms and builds leading technology solutions and IT organizations. Jerry leads the ideation, incubation and development of digital health products by leveraging emerging technologies including Mobile Health, Body Data, Predictive Models and Wearable solutions to increase symptom awareness, physician engagement, patient diagnosis and adherence. Prior to Amgen, Jerry held senior technology and product software development leadership roles at McKesson, Bank of America, JP Morgan and Intuit. Mr. Gross is a graduate of the David Syme School of Business at Monash University in Melbourne Australia. Jerry is a recipient of the 2013 Moxie Award for the Best Digital Innovation as well as the Network World User Excellence Award.




Kerrie-HolleyKerrie Holley VP & CTO, CISCO - Software Platforms|Data & Analytics|Automation Platforms

Kerrie has provided thought leadership throughout his career. In his current role he engages in driving the analytics and automation software portfolio in areas of architecture and value propositions for industry specific areas. He engages with customers, guiding the software portfolio. Prior to joining CISCO, Kerrie held leadership roles with IBM. As an IBM Fellow, Kerrie worked in IBM’s Yorktown Research Center focused on scalable business services and the emerging API economy. He served as a CTO for IBM Global Business Services (GBS), Application Innovation Services (AIS). Kerrie engaged with clients as architect, researcher and consultant on topics in the “next era” of computing (i.e., digitization, ambient computing, IoE and the confluence of mobility, social, analytics, cloud, cognitive and IoT), and its impact on software engineering, business processes applications, and IT architecture. Prior to his GBS CTO role, Kerrie led IBM's work in SOA as CTO for IBM's SOA Center of Excellence. Mr. Holley has a BA in mathematics from DePaul University and a Juris Doctorate degree from DePaul School of Law. Omar El Sawy's expertise is in digital business strategy in dynamic environments and business models for digital platforms. He teaches in the University’s MBA program and received the Marshall School's Evan C. Thompson Award for Teaching and Learning Innovation in 2012. Omar engages with global educators and technology leaders and is the author of over 100 papers. Omar is a seven-time winner of the Society for Information Management's Annual Academic Paper Award. He is currently Senior Editor of MIS Quarterly and serves on several editorial boards. Omar served as the Director of Research for Marshall's Institute for Communications Technology Management for seven years. In addition, Omar was as an advisor to the United Nations Development Programme in Egypt, and a Fulbright scholar in Finland. Mr. Sawy’s credentials include a PhD, Stanford University; MBA, American University in Cairo; B.S., Cairo University.

Chris Casacchia is an award-winning journalist and lead technology reporter for the Orange County Business Journal. He covers some of the industry’s biggest players, including Western Digital, Broadcom and Vizio, and leads CES coverage for the publication. He has insights into technology trends before they go mainstream, chronicling the meteoric rise of wireless devices and cloud services, their effects on data storage and analytics, as well as virtual reality, drones, and consumers increasing demand for a connected life. Before joining the publication, he covered banking and finance, sports business and media for the Phoenix Business Journal and was a correspondent for Sporting News and Sports Business Journal. Mr. Casacchia earned a Master’s Degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, where he later became an adjunct professor.

Carol Fawcett is Chief Information Officer for Dell Software at Dell. In this role, Carol is responsible for leading and driving Dell Software’s overall strategic information technology vision, enabling the company to align, leverage and capitalize on the biggest trends in security, mobile, analytics and cloud. As part of her charter, she and her team have architected and engineered a new generation of operational excellence at Dell. Carol drove the IT strategic vision for Infrastructure engineering across all of Dell with a focus on the future of infrastructure within Dell’s Global Data Centers, physical, virtual and cloud. Prior to joining the Dell Software team in 2012, Carol served as the CIO at Quest Software from 2000. Prior to Quest, she held IT leadership roles at Western Digital, Coldwell Banker and Pacific Mutual.
