Chris Sulla, Deputy Director of Education

Chris is currently a Lecturer at Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business. As a full-time member of the Information Systems Departments clinical faculty, Chris is an Instructor at both a graduate and undergraduate level. His course work focuses on Information Security, Privacy, Ethics, Regulatory Compliance, Project Management, and Service Delivery.

Prior to being a full-time educator, Chris spent thirty-eight (38) years as an information technology professional. Most recently as the Chief Information Officer for Sensient Technologies Corporation. At Sensient Chris was responsible for all facets of IT, including the modernizing of its global business systems & processes, creating & implementing its cybersecurity strategy, renovating its technical infrastructure through selective managed services and cloud offerings using a demand and supply service delivery governance model.

Prior to Sensient, Chris was the Vice President of Information Technology for CSM Nv / Corbion as Division CIO for its largest division in North America. At CSM, completed twenty-five (25) ERP migrations, streamlined and centralized the IT organization through a series of major business & systems integrations as a result of significant M&A work.Additionally, he contributed to making IT an integral enabler of the organization’s business strategy.

Prior to CSM, Chris held senior IT management positions at ACCO Brands, GATX, US Foodservice, and Waste Management in the areas of business process management, application development, and business intelligence. Early in his career, Chris spent time working in IT consulting, software development, and project management primarily in the areas of manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution. His professional expertise lies within major IT program management, change management, information security, and governance.

Chris received an MBA in General Management & Finance from The University of Chicago's Booth Graduate School of Business as part of their 62nd Executive Program Group and has a BS in Information Science from Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU). He recently served NEIU’s College of Business & Management Executive Advisory Council and was a part-time Instructor in the Computer Science Department teaching course work both at a graduate & undergraduate level. Chris is also a long-standing member of the Society for Information Management (SIM), the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP), the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), and InfraGuard.

He and his wife Helen (who is in Supply Chain and Logistics Management) with their cat, Piper reside in Scottsdale, AZ.
