Kate Kaiser Scholarship

The Society for Information Management (SIM) is the leading national professional network that connects senior-level Information Technology (IT) leaders with peers providing valuable opportunities for knowledge sharing, professional development, collaboration, and career advancement. The Wisconsin Chapter of SIM has a long history of supporting the education of the next generation of IT leaders.

We annually offer multiple $1,000 scholarships to deserving local students in the information technology and computing fields. These scholarships are named in honor of one of the founding members of our chapter, Kate Kaiser, who was a strong advocate of this program.

To qualify for the Kate Kaiser Scholarship Competition, you (the student) must:

  1. Be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate in an IT or other computing related program at a 4-year university or college in Wisconsin
  2. Have at least 1 semester left after the current semester
  3. Submit a Resume that includes the following:
    1. cumulative GPA and a list of IT-related courses taken or an attached current transcript
    2. description of extra-curricular activities highlighting student IT organizations
    3. description of work activities highlighting computing activities
  4. Submit a 1-page double-spaced Application Statement about why you deserve the scholarship
  5. Submit a brief Reference from a current faculty member or Wisconsin SIM chapter member
  6. Not have won the scholarship before
