About Chapter

Chartered by the national (SIM) organization in 1979, The Society for Information Management’s Capital Area Chapter (SIMCAC) has been the DC area’s most prestigious professional association for senior IT leaders for nearly four decades.

Meeting in person once a month, and with a number of ways to connect with other members virtually, SIMCAC is a great way to:

Connect

Connect – SIMCAC is not simply a network of peers, it is a community of like-minded leaders that are invested in each other’s success.

Learn

Develop – SIMCAC provides opportunities to learn from peers, learn from world class thought leaders and speakers, and collaborate in smaller groups focused on areas such as cybersecurity, IT procurement, STEM education and enterprise architecture.

Give back

Give Back– SIMCAC is dedicated to addressing the IT workforce shortage and to developing our future leaders.  We make it’s easy for our members to leave an impact: through mentoring, speaking opportunities, and participating in our charitable foundation’s events.

Eligible prospective members are encouraged to contact our membership chair and/or check us out by registering for an upcoming event.

If you are looking to learn more about our chapter, you are welcome to review the vision for our chapter and our 3-year strategy to achieve it, both of which were approved by the board in December of 2017:
