SIMCAC celebrated the 2019 holiday season with over 75 existing and perspective members at The National Press Club on Tuesday, December 10th. While many of SIMCAC's events focus on hot topics, this event is one of the few opportunities both current and prospective members are given to simply connect and deepen friendships.  As the night drew on, old friendships got deeper and new ones emerged.




Michael Huthwaite, Chairman of the SIMCAC Board, made a toast to members and talked about the charitable mission of the organization - giving back to the community and developing the next generation of IT leaders.
 
To demonstrate the organization's commitment to positive social impact, the board, represented by Joe Malfesi and Nanci Schimizzi, presented a $5,000 check to Year Up, a non-profit organization dedicated to closing the opportunity divide by enabling young adults to move from minimum wage to meaningful careers in just one year.
 

YearUp's attending student ambassador, Sayed Khan, then gave a passionate testimonial about how his time with Year Up has transformed his life and those of his fellow students.
