SIM Golf Tournament Benefits TechNation
Contact Brett Thorson to sign up:

TechNation was established in 2018 to support refugees and immigrants in their search for rewarding jobs in the technology industry. Our organization offers career training services, mentorship, and cooperate placement connections. These refugees have come from Afghan, Syrian, Ukraine, South and Central America, and Africa, along with many other war-torn countries.

TechNation has been partnered with Regis University’s “Computing for the Common Good” program since 2019. The Common Good Network goes beyond providing business and technical education — it helps improve the human condition for the betterment of society. Through Regis, TechNation offers CompTIA training including A+, Networking +, and Security + courses. Most job seekers will receive 100% reimbursement for these classes through government-sponsored funds.

After graduation, students have support from our Employment Coordinators to find the right fit with our employers and staffing partners. TechNation also provides job seekers with career services, including resume writing and career coaching. We work to help place candidates with our large database of employee partners.

Your donation will provide critical resources for our volunteers and part-time employees to be efficient mentors and career coaches. All proceeds will go toward ensuring that our refugees and immigrants have a chance to find new, rewarding jobs and a better life for their families.

“When I arrived in this country, I worked as a pizza delivery driver, even though I had been working as an accountant in Syria. It was hard to find a job that fit my skills and my experience. TechNation gave me the opportunity to find a great accounting job, buy a house, and start a new life for my family”

SIM Members in Transition

We are a free educational and support resource to assist Colorado IT Executives advance and accelerate their job search to find the right next step in their career.

It was a simple idea.  Create a meeting place where Colorado’s top IT leaders in-transition could meet to support one another in their job search.  In 2016, It was an idea that evolved into the SIM MIT group.  In 2017, the decision was made to welcome all IT management professionals in-transition as an investment in their evolving success.

Whether you are a member of SIM Colorado or not, we want to welcome you to join us for our monthly meeting. At this time we are meeting virtually, but we hope that changes soon. Our meetings are the 3rd Thursday of every month from 12:00 - 1:00 PM via zoom.
