We were excited to welcome back Dr. Mekel Harris, Ph.D., NCSP, a licensed clinical psychologist & health service provider. Many of you remember Dr. Harris from her interactive discussion with us in July on how to recognize, manage and address stressors in our team members and ourselves during times of crisis. For our October meeting, Dr. Harris presented Unconscious Bias, social stereotypes about certain groups of people that individuals form outside their own conscious awareness and how this can influence workplace and personal decisions. She introduced a framework for recognizing Unconscious Bias and facilitated an interactive discussion on personal awareness to help us make more informed decisions personally and in the workplace.
