Chocolate and Spirit Tasting and Game Night Event

Last Thursday evening, our community gathered virtually for our first ever Chocolate and Spirit Tasting & Game Night.  Members were able to socially reconnect while experiencing a tasting of chocolates from The Conche and spirits from Mt. Defiance Cidery & Distillery, which was led by Peter Ahlf,  Mt. Defiance’s head Distiller.

After the tasting, members competed for pride and prizes, including two trivia games.  We also played a round of two truths and a lie, where we learned a number of new truths about each other.  Perhaps the biggest reveal of the evening was that one member starred on Romper Room as a child (as they say, what happens on a SIMCAC social, stays in a SIMCAC social).

Special thanks to Matthew Deneroff of Robert Half Technology for sponsoring, running one of the trivia games, and supplying the prizes.

SIMCAC is dedicated to keeping our community vibrant and connected during these “virtual-only” times, and these socials are one of the many things we are doing to accomplish that goal.  We also have an active Slack workspace where members exchange advice and personal stories, exclusive breakfasts for our CxO members to compare notes, and open monthly meetings designed to encourage connection and conversation.  If you aren’t already a member, we hope that you’ll consider joining.  If you are ready, simply submit your application and we’ll handle the rest.  If you have any questions about eligibility or the process, please reach out to our membership committee by sending an email to membership@simcac.org.
