SIMCAC Happy Hour: 2020 Kick Off

Have you registered yet?

Current and eligible prospective members are welcome and encouraged to join us for a casual complimentary happy hour on Thursday, January 23rd at CIRCA in Clarendon from 5:30pm - 8:00pm. This is a great way to meet our new board, network with peers, and kick off the 2020 programming calendar.

This is an ideal and low stress way for prospective members to explore SIMCAC membership.  As such, SIMCAC members are encouraged to spread the word and invite eligible prospective members (guests can attend for free, simply register them as your guests with the “Prospective Member (Member Guest)” ticket type after logging in).

* Please register early, as we expect a heavy turnout.  We look forward to seeing everyone on the 23rd!

RLF is Just Around the Corner - Letter from Madeline Weiss

One of the most valuable programs within SIM is the Regional Leadership Forum (RLF).  Below is a message from Madeline Weiss, Mid-Atlantic RLF Leader.  I encourage you to read this message and give serious consideration to identifying one or more high potential leaders in your organization to participate in the 2020 Mid-Atlantic RLF.

As leader of the Mid-Atlantic RLF, I’ve had the pleasure of working with over 500 IT leaders who have been enrolled in the program. Participants regularly come from such Mid-Atlantic organizations as Armstrong World Industries, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Chubb Insurance, Carestream Health, Constellation Brands, Aetna, Bristol-Myers Squibb, International Monetary Fund, InterAmerican Development Bank, Johnson & Johnson, FINRA, NASA, CarMax, Smithfield Foods, Computer Aid, Air Products, AARP, Dollar Financial Corp, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Campbell Soup, MorganLewis and Arkema.
The 2020 program begins February 11-12, 2020 at the Chubb Conference Center in Philadelphia. For the more than 25 years I’ve been leading the program, sponsors have raved about the growth of their participants - high-potential IT vice presidents, directors and managers.  I hope you will take advantage of this program and send us at least one high-potential IT director or manager from your organization.  Here are some comments from recent participants:
  • "Thank you for an amazing class."
  • "You have been a great guide for us along this journey. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to meet my fellow RLF classmates, to learn from the guest speakers, and to forge relationships with them both.  This has been a life-changing experience for me personally and professionally, and I thank you for that.  I am no longer afraid to take a seat at the table."
  • "I have grown measurably in my ability to look at my strengths, abilities, and even weaknesses, to become a better husband, father, manager, co-worker - and most importantly - leader!"
  • "Thank you for the opportunity to stretch, dive deeper into who I am, and sharing your wisdom and feedback.  This journey has truly helped me with balance and I'm in a very happy place in my life."
  • "The RLF program has opened up my way of thinking and helped me grow professionally.  I always want to be challenged and this class has given me that opportunity. I now have 26 new friends and a great network of new people."
  • "You have been phenomenal in leading all these sessions.  Very thought provoking and engaging. I learned a lot in the process."
  • "Thank you so much for leading us on this wonderful journey.  One of my key learnings is that I can have a positive impact on those coming behind.  It's been a truly fabulous experience."
  • "You truly inspired me to be better and accomplish more."
  • "One of the many things I learned during RLF that will stay with me is to never be afraid to try something new.  By trying, we stretch our minds and open ourselves to new possibilities and realities."
You can register participants for the Mid-Atlantic RLF at: Although the fee is $9350, there is a discount for SIM Members ($500). The program starts next month so I encourage you to register ASAP.
Please call with questions.
