How We Work Together

A short participation agreement for the Peer Learning & Knowledge Sharing Program

Before you sign up, take a couple of minutes to read through this. Nothing here is unusual or onerous, it's just the basics of being a good neighbor in a small community of senior leaders.

The survey at the end of this page asks you to confirm you're on board, and then sends you on to sign up.

1

We respect each other's time

Showing up for another member is a real commitment, even for a casual coffee chat.

  • Treat introductions and conversations you make through this program the way you would any professional commitment.
  • Be honest with yourself about how much time you can offer right now. It's better to say "not this quarter" than to overcommit.
  • The same goes for the people you reach out to. They may not have capacity in your timeframe, or may not be the right fit. Not every outreach turns into a connection, and that is completely okay.
2

We show up in good faith, and what's said between us stays between us

Peer learning only works when people can be honest about what they're actually wrestling with.

  • Come in with curiosity and respect, and a willingness to both give and receive.
  • Keep the content of your one-on-one conversations confidential, unless the two of you explicitly agree to share more widely.
3

We share feedback so we can make the program better

This program will improve only if members tell us what's working and what isn't.

  • Send your feedback any time. The Advisory Hub has a link, or you can reach out to the committee directly.
  • Feedback is about the program overall, not a review of any individual or specific conversation. We're not rating people, we're improving how we run.
4

We can use your feedback anonymously to talk about the program

Member feedback helps us show what SIM Toronto is about.

  • You're agreeing that we can use your feedback without your name or identifying details, in chapter communications and marketing.
  • If we ever want to attach your name, quote you publicly, or use your story specifically, we'll ask you first and get your written okay.
5

Your profile is visible to other SIM Toronto members

The whole program runs on members being able to find each other.

  • You're agreeing to have your name, role, organization, and survey responses published in the Advisory Hub.
  • This is visible only to other SIM Toronto members logged in to the member site. It is not public, and it is not shared with non-members.

Please sign in to complete the participation survey below, and the committee will create the Advisory Hub and publish it to the SIM Toronto membership.
