Program Overview

SIM Toronto

Peer Learning & Knowledge Sharing Program

A new SIM Toronto member benefit. Here's what the program is and how it works.

SIM Toronto is launching a lightweight, no-cost program that connects members one-on-one to share experience, work through real challenges, and accelerate each other's leadership growth.

1

Our vision

A trusted, member-led peer learning network that accelerates leadership growth across SIM Toronto. The program connects executives and senior leaders for practical, confidential, no-cost conversations. It turns experience into applied guidance, so members can make better decisions faster, expand their perspective, strengthen their leadership trajectory, and deepen their engagement in the chapter.

What the program does

We provide a lightweight, high-value way for SIM Toronto members to learn from each other. Members are paired across levels and strengths to produce context-rich, real conversations that cannot be replicated through independent learning alone.

AI, books, podcasts, and courses can transfer information. Peer learning transfers judgment. A peer can interpret your situation, challenge your assumptions, and help you apply lessons to the specific constraints you face. That context compresses learning cycles and reduces avoidable mistakes.

The program is designed to:

  • Let you self-match and connect based on your interests
  • Support different learning needs: skill building, career navigation, accountability, executive decision-making, and mutual peer exchange
  • Create consistent, confidential conversations focused on practical next steps
  • Build community ties, retention, and cross-member collaboration in a small chapter
  • Run with minimal administration and zero cost to participants
  • Use member feedback to keep the program improving and to share what SIM Toronto is about

How we've designed it

The program is built around three guiding principles, so it stays useful and easy to participate in:

  • Free for all SIM Toronto members.
  • A SIM Toronto member benefit, run by and for the chapter.
  • Lightweight to operate, so the focus stays on member-to-member conversations rather than program overhead.

How it works

The participant journey is intentionally simple:

  • Complete the participation survey, including agreement to the Principles & Practices.
  • The committee publishes your profile to the Advisory Hub, visible only to SIM Toronto members behind the member login.
  • Browse the Advisory Hub to find others with matching interests.
  • Reach out directly using the contact method listed in their profile.
  • Start with an informal conversation on a topic of shared interest.
  • Share feedback with the committee any time about the program itself (not individuals or specific conversations).

Ready to participate? Complete the participation survey, and the committee will add your profile to the Advisory Hub.
