Outreach

Giving Back to Support STEM Initiatives

Funds raised through our Outreach efforts supports veteran and STEM education
by partnering with educators, researchers and like-minded organizations to create a better tech work force for tomorrow.
We provide scholarships and grants to reward achievements and behaviors of students and educators involved in STEM;
support STEM based initiatives for under-served communities through our philanthropy efforts; and continue to
partner with educator, institution and organizations to promote STEM in the DFW Community.

Community Giveback

Since 2014, SIM DFW has donated $179,249, to over 22 agencies and supported over 4,000 students across the North Texas area along with thousands of hours of volunteer time.

SIM DFW was founded in 1983 and has a rich tradition of leveraging the considerable talents of our members to give back to the community. We believe that giving back to the community should be an integral part of our mission. When we strengthen our community, we help strengthen its economic stability, provide a nurturing environment for rich development of our youth, and promote growth in technological advantage and entrepreneurship within the community. The impact is profound and is recognized by many of the non-profit and educational institutions across North Texas.

SIM DFW was inspired by the example of the national Society for Information Management. Established in 1968, the organization has more than 5,000 current members and is regarded as the premier networking organization for IT professionals.

SIM members are thought leaders who share experiences and rich intellectual capital, and who explore current and future IT direction. SIM provides resources and programs inspired by IT leaders, for IT leaders, through its 42 local chapters.

If you are a SIM DFW member, we thank you! If you are not, we invite you to join us in our mission. As a SIM member, regular events are free and participation on the DFW Board, Event Teams, and Community Outreach is voluntary.
