  1. Share a fun personal fact: I have a nanosecond that I received from Commander Grace Hopper. (Yes, I am THAT old!)
  2. How long have you been a SIM member? 12 years
  3. Why do you invest your time in SIM? I believe in giving both forward and back. SIM allows me to do that.
  4. What is one of the most important lessons you’ve learned in your career? Organizations change as leadership changes. What was a great fit can become less than optimal with new values and new emphases. This doesn’t make one right or wrong, just different. This removes the guilt and “blame storming”.
  5. Tell us about an impactful SIM event that you’ve attended, and what you took away from it: Glenda Eoyang presented on Human Systems Dynamic, explaining the concept of “Same and Different” and how to identify the difference that makes a difference. I use this concept and its associated techniques all the time to help individuals and teams focus their energies.
  6. What is one goal you have for 2021? To get vaccinated against COVID-19 and gather with friends again.
  7. If you could have 1 day with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why? Senator Paul Wellstone. I so miss his positive energy and people centered forward thinking. As I heard Paul say many times, “We all do better when we all do better.”
