  1. Share a fun personal fact:  I find it fun and a challenge to find typos in published works.
  2. How long have you been a SIM member?  Still in my first year!
  3. Why do you invest your time in SIM?  I gain benefits learning how others solved an issue or approached a similar situation.  At the same time, sharing my ideas may help someone else out.  The notion of belonging to an IT community, designed to inform and build each other up is quite exciting.
  4. What is one of the most important lessons you’ve learned in your career?  It’s not all about being the smartest person in the room.  There is a skill in determining who to bring to the conversation and how best to facilitate that discussion.  There are certain areas of discipline where I will not have the necessary expertise but gives me the opportunity to let others shine and supply the needed information.  You need all types of people and levels of expertise to arrive at the best solution.
  5. Tell us about an impactful SIM event that you’ve attended, and what you took away from it.  I really enjoyed our session with Lea B Olsen, who talked about her journey toward success and how being different than the masses was a key factor in her success.  She was very motivational, and I love how she is using her story to encourage our youth.
  6. What is one goal you have for 2021?  Personally, start over (again) on a health improvement plan.  Professionally, get out of the weeds so I can focus on overarching direction and strategy.
  7. If you could have 1 day with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?  Maybe Oprah Winfrey – she has a fascinating story, seems very genuine and I would likely come away with some great nuggets of advice or maybe a free "favorite thing" from her famous lists.
  8. How will we remember you?  Hopefully as a loyal, dedicated, hard-working woman, who would do anything for her family and wanted to leave things better than she found them.
