Community matters during this difficult time. As we all struggle to deal with the current crisis, the SCSIM community is here to support you. Our board met on Thursday, March 26, to discuss how we can all help our SCSIM practitioner community respond to the COVID-19 health and economic crisis.

As a result, we are scheduling a series of virtual discussions, where SCSIM board members will host a discussion of the challenges that are facing us at this time. The sessions are free; however, each session is limited to 50 participants, so we encourage you to sign up soon for the sessions that are most interesting to you!

2019 SCSIM Holiday Social

SCSIM hosted its second annual Holiday Social on December 7, 2019 at the Windsor Salon in Long Beach. The event included dinner, live entertainment, a fun-packed “casino” and opportunities to meet new friends. One of our SCSIM members, Tim Moran, CIO and CTO of Media, Entertainment & Technology LLC, performed with his instrumental jazz band.

2019 Southern California CIO Executive Leadership Summit

An exemplary event for learning and networking, with over 150 practitioners in attendance last year. The courageous leadership and soft skills required to drive cultural transformation in the digital era were the focal points of the discussion at the 2019 Southern California CIO Executive Leadership Summit. SCSIM and HMG Strategy co-produced the event, which took place at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa on October 8, 2019.

Chris talked about the human dimensions that shape the work of IT leaders and ultimately become decisive factors in the success or failure of technology-led change initiatives.
